Trimmer Fuel Grommet

Leaf Blower Fuel Tank Vent

This check valve or the fuel tank vent is connected to the fuel tank in the following products: hedge trimmer, leaf blower/vacuum, chainsaw, edger, engine, tiler, auger, water pump, chipper shredder, sprayer, and brush cutter. The check valve allows air into the fuel tank to prevent vacuum when the fuel is being fed through the fuel line. Tip: if the vent is clogged, your engine may stall. Tune-up Kit

In order to keep your equipment running strong, doing regular maintenance is critical. Your small engine should have a tune-up once per year, which consists of replacing the most common wear parts. This OEM-sourced kit includes an air filter; spark plug and fuel filter. Replacing all the parts in this kit should not take any longer than five minutes. Start by installing the air filter. Remove the air filter cover and air filter. Place the new air filter on the filter case and place the cover back on. Next, replace the fuel filter. Remove the gas cap and use a wire hook to lift the fuel line from the tank. Remove the old filter and line up the new one onto the fuel line, making sure the retaining clamp fits over the nipple. Lastly, replace the spark plug by first removing the boot. Use a wrench to remove the spark plug. Before installing the new spark plug be sure to check the gap between the electrodes. Install the new spark plug into the cylinder and place the boot back on.

Then fuel will come up from the fuel tank through the fuel line then into the carburetor. The excess fuel will be forced back into the tank through the fuel return line. Over time the primer will lose its elasticity or crack and need to be replaced.
