all that was required was to push the catch into the slot notools needed.

It had been making noise for a week and I bought the two drum support rollers hoping that was the problem. It wasn't as the dryer started shutting down after a few minutes of running. I opened the top of the dryer and removed the 2 screws holding the face and door on. I removed the face and disconnected the door switch wires and released the drum belt by pushing on the idler pully. I then removed the drum straight out the top. I then put a wrench on the fan on the back of the motor and unscrewed it and then released the two holdown clamps on the motor and removed the motor. I had to make a couple of wiring modifications for the new motor but the instructions and connectors that came with the motor were perfect. I put everything back together and plugged the dryer back in and tried to start it and .... Nothing. I forgot to reconnect the door switch wires. Fixed that and the dryer now runs as good as new and makes no noise at all now (almost anyway). It should be good for another 10 years easy.

My dryer started squeaking and I thought it was the drum rollers, so I bought a set. When I attempted the repair and got as far as removing the dryer drum and I decided to spin the shaft on the motor and that was where the squealing was coming from. I put the rollers on and reassembled the dryer. One day later the motor seized up. Ordered a new motor and installed it with no problems. The nut on the back of the motor ended up being a 20mm wrench. Motor cost me $105.56 and the maintenance kit (ps37308) (2 rollers,4 clips, button clip, new idler pulley and belt) cost $32.08. It cost a total of $137.64 in repairs with no labor costs and I accomplished it in under an hour. Minor handyman skills needed or find a friend who is handy. My dryer is 14 years old and now is running like new again. I used the 50% rule, if a repair exceeds 50% of the cost of a new machine, replace it, if the repair can be done for less than 50% of the cost of a new on, fix it.

The numbers on the metal plates were the JC Penney numbers - that no one recognizes. I eventually found the model number inside the timer case on a printed schematic. I started by disassembling whatever metal covers were removable by finding sheet metal screws and unscrewing them. If you pull on the sheet metal covers, you can find where they are connected to the frame. Eventually, I found that both the heating element was broken and the thermostat was fried. It took a while looking at various websites to find the proper parts. It's all OK now.

The original lint filter was broken, as the dryer was very old I did have the part #, I searched the internet I saw partselect.com on the search engin I did know it would be so easy to get this product, I selected the part by size specification.

Thank you partselect .com for making my life easy. Or else imagine me driving around looking for stores which sell spares for old dryers wasting time and gas-go green shop at home.

Once we realized we needed to take the FRONT off the dryer, not the back all went well. It was an easy fix and the part fix perfectly. Instead of $60 or more for a repairman, we spent less than $20 fixing the dryer.

I followed the on-line video. I am extremely happy I made the effort and successfully fixed my dryer on my own. It sure beats a new dryer expense or high repair cost.

i took the face off dryer and removed the belt and drum then removed the lint trap from back to clean and have access fan then removed the retaing clips holding the motor then with two adjustable wenches unscewed the motor from fan took out motor and replaced in reverse order all you needed was some common sence to do this i though it was easy to do greats parts fit perfect thanks tommy

Grown daughter did the repair following instructions on your site........Unplug, take screws out of top by lint filter and with putty knife pry up top panel and lean back. Unplug elec. harness in front corner. A screw on each side of front panel removes that. Get old belt off and then we vaccumed all the lint from under and around drum. Put new belt around drum making sure not twisted and pull pulley as shown to make tight......... would have taken less time but we vaccumed all the lint from under and around the drum. Anyone could do this......

I just followed your video how to replace a broken belt , after viewing replacing belt went easy

Very difficult for one person, trying to get the belt engaged into the motor pulley and the idler pulley at the same time. Trying to overcome the tension of the heavy spring on the idler was the main problem, while coping with the small working space with the drum in place. Solved all the problems by removing the drum (for the 3rd time) and making a piece of wood to wedge in against the outside wall of the machine to hold back the spring loaded idler. Then slipped the drum back in place and gently slid the belt around the drum. Then reached in under the drum and slipped the wood piece out while making sure the belt remained on the pulleys. If I had the wood idea at the start, it would have been about a half hour job. Good luck, and don't pinch your fingers.

Opened new package took item out and put it on the slot where the old filter was. Easy as pie. My dryer is 46 years old and works just fine.

Removed top, then remove front panel, then removed the drum, and the idler pulley assembly. Then added new parts, and reversed procedure to assemble back to new.actually runs better, now. Dryer is approximately 30 years old.
