This genuine OEM part is a radiant flame sensor for your gas dryer. It is used to determine when the temperature of the igniter is hot enough to ignite the gas. Once the igniter is hot enough, it allows the valve to open to release the gas. This acts as a safety mechanism which prevents dangerous levels of gas from building up. If your dryer will not start, is not producing enough heat, not heating up at all, is taking too long to dry laundry, or is shutting off too soon, you may need to replace the radiant flame sensor. Please be sure to disconnect the power and gas supply to your dryer before beginning this repair.

Oor dryer would not get hot.

I opened the bottom section and watched as the igniter got red hot as it should but the gas valve did not open. I wired around the sensor and the gas valve opened and the fuel ignited. VERY IMPORTANT: DO NOT RUN YOUR DRYER IN THIS STATE: IT WILL BLOW UP!! I did a VERY short test, then ordered the new sensor. Just one screw holds the sensor (as shown in the Parts video). One screw out, new sensor, one screw in and our dryer is back in full and proper running order. Read more...

This black rubber drum belt connects the motor pulley to the dryer drum, enabling the drum to rotate as the motor runs. If the heater element is burned, dryer does not heat or over heats, or clothes take too long to dry, then replacing this part could solve your problem. The tools needed for this repair project are: Phillips screwdriver, putty knife, needle nose pliers. To repair, first remove the main top of dryer and remove ground strap at the rear. Next, disconnect two wire harnesses that hold front panel to the cabinet to pull out front panel. Once you have access to the inside of the dryer, refer to the manual for further installation instruction. As a safety precaution, remember to unplug appliance from power source before beginning this repair project.

Unplug unit. Pull top off, pulled front top panel, pulled the front panel with door. Remove rear exhaust tube. Removed wires to heating element, remove heating element housing. UNPLUG first! remove vent hose, remove inside vent tube, (three screws), remove the top panel, (two screws, on back top), remove front panel with door,(4 screws on top, & 3 screws inside door)..to remove heater, remove one screw in the front, and unplug the wiring, then snake it out the back.. install new and put back together following steps back to start!! This is a factory-certified oven sensor kit with two harness adapters. Its purpose is to sense the temperature inside the oven. Replacing this part can fix an oven that is not reaching the proper temperature (too hot or not hot enough), not heating evenly, or an oven that will not start. To access this part, you will need access to the back of the range. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws on the access panel. Once the access panel is removed, you will notice a hole on the right side of the oven where the temperature sensor comes out of the oven. You will need to unplug the wire harness, and then open the oven door, locate it in the upper left corner, and remove the screws holding the temperature sensor in place. Pull the sensor out of the back of the oven, and replace it with your new part.
