Product Description

This genuine OEM part is a thermostat assembly for your fridge. This part acts as a sensor to detect temperature changes in the evaporator. When the defrost cycle is running and the ice has melted, the thermostat detects the temperature increase and shuts the cycle off. You may need to replace the thermostat assembly if your fridge or freezer is too warm, the temperatures fluctuate constantly, or the units continuously runs, or will not run at all. You can use a multimeter to check if the thermostat is faulty and needs to be replaced. Please be sure to disconnect the power supply to your fridge before beginning this repair.

Frig would shut off and not cool or freeze in freezer
To find problem I read other peoples problems and then I tapped on the thermostat and the frig would come on and cool and freeze. I had to keep doing this every 6-8 hours till part came. I ordered the part it came in. I watched the video and it was a snap to put in if you have the right tools. The putty knife was the life saver to take of f the face plate. Start at the very top and work it side to side to remove that face plate. Watch the video!! It makes this job very simple then.

Thermostat not working
The repair itself was fairly easy. I would suggest spraying a little lube into the insulation tube before sliding it over the wire. It kept getting stuck and bending and ended up taking about 1/2 hour to put on. Putting everything back together was pretty quick.

Freezer would thaw out, frig side would not cool as well.
We followed the instructions from the video which was very helpful. Two things that were not in the video. 1. The step where you have to unplug the main electric from the top, part of the frig after dropping down the panel not is about an inch square plug with wires on the left side. 2. While the video tells you to plug the red and, I think orange wires back onto the thermostat, they didn't mention that the prong placement might be different and what to do in that case. Being smart people, we were able to figure that out by looking at the lettering on the wires and the letters on the prongs. Would be nice to know that info without guessing when it comes to electrical. Otherwise, simple installation and the frig is working normally once again.

Fridg Was Was So Cold
The vegetables had to be thrown out several times. They felt like they were in the freezer. Any liquids felt very cold as well. Had to have our handyman do this job. We could not do it and after seeing the problems he had with it ----- it was not that easy at all.

No cooling, Would not kick on.
The thermostat is located just behind the knob for the refrigerator temperature setting. Had to remove the control panel and the covers around the vent in at the top of the refrigerator. Removed the thermostat and replaced. Used the sensing bulb plastic cover from the old thermostat and installed on the new one. Reinstalled control panel and covers.

Ordered the Part , watch video did repair. One note of advise the part did not fit the screws I took off old part, so you will have to find new screws to mount new thermostat.
