Product Description

This is a genuine OEM ice maker assembly for your refrigerator. The ice maker makes eight cubes at a time, by filling the mold with water from the inlet valve, freezing the water until the cubes are formed, and then ejecting them into the storage bucket. This process will repeat until the ice bucket is full. If your device is not making ice cubes, the ice maker assembly may need to be replaced. Please ensure that you disconnect the power and water supply to your fridge before beginning this repair. This kit includes the fill cup, a four-pin wire harness adapter, and tube.

Ice maker makes ice, but once the arm extends it will not retract on it's own. If you push it back down it will cycle again, but not retract.

Ice maker stopped making ice
Loosened 2 screws on left side freezer wall. Disconnected wire harness. Took out ice maker. Made sure screws extended far enough out to fit the new ice maker over them. Connected the wire harness. Put ice maker onto the 2 screws. Tightened the screws. Within a few hours we had ice. NOTE: use a mirror or you will fish blindly trying to find and tighten the screws. With the mirror, it was easy.

Stopped making ice
The video supplied was great, but omitted one important detail. There is a heating element on the underside of the unit. In my case that was hot enough to burn the finger that touched it while removing the failed ice maker. Users should be warned to avoid contact with that or instructed on some way to insure it is not hot before attempti ng to remove the ice maker.

When the ice maker wasn't making any ice, I said this refrigerator is not that all for this to happened, give credit where is due, I turned to Youtube and research on how to repair the system, the technicians explained how to repair very simple, gave me the information on how to order the parts, ordered the parts and save myself a few hun dreds dollars. My refrigerator is working as good as new for another few years. Customer service was very helpful, they ask me for the model # explain what I need it and in two days I received the parts. Ice Maker Stopped Working
I replaced the water valve and that didn't fix the problem so I ordered a ice maker, the ice maker came in and I founded out the wire connection/connector was reversed so I cut the connector off the old ice maker and reattached it to the new ice maker, plugged it in and now I have ice again. Over all it was easy and would have been compl etely easy if I haven't had to cut the wires and make the connection/connector right.

I had broke my ice maker, by not lifting the arm before removing the ice tub. so don't do that.
Very easy part's change out. 1st you will need a 1/4" nut driver, so just wash and dry your new part before installing then remove 2 - 1/4" machine screws. Pull electric wires gently down and squeeze sides of connector to "unplug. reverse process to install. The only pointer is make sure you look at the back of unit before you start t o see that the water trough is over the top of lip of your new ice maker. And I did not turn off the fridge. to do this but you might want to.
