Circuit Breaker 5140000-19
- Fix Number:
- FIX10175758
- Manufacturer #:
- 5140000-19
- Manufactured by:
- DeWALT
- Product Description
- This is a circuit breaker, which provides overload protection to your planer motor. It is OEM authorized and sold individually. If the planer is working with a very large piece of lumber and takes too large of a bite, this will put stress on the motor that it may not be able to handle. This is when the circuit breaker is designed to trip, which will turn the power off to the motor, protecting it from expensive damage. With time, the circuit breaker can fail, causing it to prematurely trip or not reset after being tripped. To access this part, start by removing the trim piece around the switch with a screwdriver. Next, remove the switch plate that secures the switch to the planer, and then use your pliers to remove the two wires attached to the old circuit breaker. Then use a wrench to unfasten the nut that secures the circuit breaker to the housing, which will allow you to then remove the circuit breaker.
