Replacing the spark plug should be part of your regular maintenance. How often to replace it depends on your model but is generally changed at least once a year or more, depending on use. When a spark plug has gone bad this can lead to a hard-starting engine, a misfire, or the engine not starting at all. Replacing it is very easy. Start by gapping your new spark plug according to the manufacturer specifications. For this repair, start by removing the boot from the old plug, use a wrench to remove it, and twist it off with your hand. Now thread the new replacement spark plug into place and tighten it using the wrench. This manufacturer-approved spark plug is sold individually.

This is a fuel line grommet, and it is used with various lawn and garden equipment. This part prevents leaking fuel and fumes. The grommet is placed in the fuel tank to seal the opening area where the fuel line and the fuel tank connect. A worn grommet is a safety hazard because it will cause fuel to leak from the tank. We recommend when replacing it to also replace the fuel line. Before starting this repair make sure to drain the fuel from the tank, and remove the spark plug.

This check valve or the fuel tank vent is connected to the fuel tank in the following products: hedge trimmer, leaf blower/vacuum, chainsaw, edger, engine, tiler, auger, water pump, chipper shredder, sprayer, and brush cutter. The check valve allows air into the fuel tank to prevent vacuum when the fuel is being fed through the fuel line. Tip: if the vent is clogged, your engine may stall. Usually, the vent line is connected to a fuel grommet that is installed on the fuel tank. The tools needed for this installation are: needle-nose pliers and a small slotted screwdriver. Remember to wear work gloves to protect hands. Refer to the manual for an accurate repair guide.
