Freezer initially stopped working. Then after trying to test and repair problem entire unit stopped cooling.
Went on line and found instructions how to test several parts of my Amana fridge and bring an electrician and mechanic in an industrial facility I know my way around machinery and tools. clicking - Sears repair service man did not fix the problem
The replacement part was not exactly like the on in the unit. Therefore I used a vom meter to determine which leads to connect. Very pleased with the replacement part and the shipping speed.

Upper and lower stopped cooling
Checked out the different causes thru the site and determined what I had to order. The combo pack compressor start device/capacitor arrived about three days later. I had watched the video so it all looked pretty straight forward and fairly easy to replace the parts. Was a little different configuration between my old parts and the new one

s but quickly figured it out. Simply unplugged the fridge, removed the back panel with the nut driver. Unplugged the lead-in wires and pulled out the old start device/capacitor with some long pliers..and simply reversed the process..easy as pie. Vacummed out all of the dust balls in back and the front bottom around the coils. Now it is cold and sometimes I can't tell even it is on, it's be so quiet now. My wife thinks I am the man plus saved $$$$ on a service house call.

Clicking from freezer cabinet. Went into long defrost cycles, thawing ice and ice cream, then refreezing.
Took back panel off. Disconnected start device from compressor. Switched out new part. Reconnected, replaced panel, plugged fridge back in. No issues since.

no ice no cold air
I removed the cover from the fridge with a nut driver,snapped out old capacitor put in new one plugged in and it started to run.Easy as that. The techician who came out to fix it said it would run me around $600 to repair it,and wanted $150 just to luck at it. With $70 I fixed myself.my wife could not be happier.. Thank you .
