Product Description

This kit comes with the necessary components to replace your burner terminal block. It includes interchangeable mounting brackets, a terminal box, ceramic wire nuts, heat shrink protective tubing, and wires. The purpose of this part is to connect the wire harness to the surface element, which allows for the burners to heat up. Some common issues that result from a damaged terminal block is that your element will not heat properly or not heat up at all, may cause burning smell, or make a buzzing noise. If you remove the element and the tips are black, that is a good sign there is a problem with the terminal block and it should be replaced. It may also be necessary to replace the burner elements as well, if the tips are badly damaged. This repair will require a pair of wire strippers, a #1 square head screwdriver, and a heat gun or hair dryer. If you are not comfortable with cutting, stripping, and reconnecting of wires you should contact a qualified professional to complete this repair. Please be sure to disconnect the power supply to your appliance before starting this repair. As this is a genuine OEM parts kit, it will be compatible with your appliance model.

8 inch surface element melted at elbow to terminal block - shot out a 6 inch flame.
Note: This is the first time I've ever tried fixing a stove. First, I ordered a new element. Took a minute to install, but it didn't solve the problem. I ordered a terminal block kit and switch kit. Replaced the terminal block. Took about 10 minutes. Only problem was the shrink sleeves melted. Electrician's tape remedied the proble m. Tested the element again. It still didn't work. Following instructions provided, replaced the old switch with the new universal switch. First unplugged stove. Removed upper back panel. Took a closeup photo of switch connections, in case I messed up. Removed old switch, leaving all wires connected. Per instructions, mounted new switch and fitted dial to proper length - took about two minutes. Permanently mounted new switch. New switch wire terminals were not in the same location as on the old switch. No matter, both old and new switch terminal designations are clearly marked. Transferred wires from old terminals, one at a time, and connected to corresponding terminal on new switch. Plugged in stove. Turned on the new switch. Element worked fine. Tested the rest of the stove, just to make sure I didn't mess anything up. Everything worked. Replaced back panel. Cleaned up areas on the stove that are hard to reach while stove is in place. Slid stove back in place. Works like a champ.

Burner would sometimes work & sometimes not. Would stop in the middle of cooking.
Just follow the directions provided with the terminal block & it's really, really easy. Only problem that I had was telling the front from the back & the top from the bottom but I think that the wires only snap in one way so there is no way to screw it up!
