First I removed the plastic hinge cover. Than removed the four hex screws from the hinge assembly. Then lifted the hinge assembly straight up out of the door. It took a little pressure to remove it because of the rubber boot around the hinge spring. I inserted the spring on the new hinge into the opening the on the door, pushed it in unti ... Read more l the spring retainer at the top of spring could be inserted into the hole on top of door. Then rotated the hinge to realign the holes in hinge with the holes in the refrigerator, stalled the four hex screws. Put the hinge cover back in place. This repair took less than 10 minutes.
