Squealing and smelled burning rubber and the tub wouldn't spin with a load
It honestly took me longer to pull out the machine and find my jack stand than it did to actually change the belts. I removed the front panel. Tilted the machine back. Placed the jack stand under the right front corner of the machine to support it. Slid the belts off (pump belt first followed by the drum belt). Cleaned off all three pull

eys with brake cleaner to remove the old belt residue and accumulated grime from the last 25 years, yes, 25. Replaced the belts in the reverse order. Let the machine down and ran a small load of towels to check my work. Success!! I couldn't be any more satisfied with the results and with Fix.com for having the parts available.

Washer leaked drips came out of the back where hoses connect and from the bottom.
I removed the front and top of the washer. (Thanks for the great videos,!) Injector valve was leaking out the perforated sheath, so I ordered a new one. That did not fix my leak! ipe. That fixed the problem; but on running a load through I discovered that the tub gasket was leaking on the spin cycle. Sad ending to this story, I decided to scrap the old Maytag. It was 40 years old and paid for itself many times over.
