- This push-to-start switch is a genuine OEM part and is used to activate your dryer. If your dryer will not start, or will only start if the switch is pushed down, or the timer knob is not engaging with the starter, you may need to replace the switch. The tools you will need to replace this part are a Phillips screwdriver and a flat blade screwdriver. Please be sure to disconnect the power supply to your dryer before beginning this repair.

Do you have a video to replace the starter?
For model number GTDX100EM1WW
Hello Dale, thank you for your inquiry. We have on our site, a testimonial from a previous customer that shared his repair. He says: Unplug dryer, remove screws and panel. Take picture of dryer motor so you will put wires back the same way . Remove screws using Allen wrench, then unplug wires put the new motor on secure, then put wires back on. View the photo make sure the wires are the same. Then plug your dryer back up. Total Repair Time 15-30 mins. Good luck with this repair.

my switch has 4 wires can you give me the right part
For model number gtd33eask0ww
Hello James, thank you for writing. For your model number GTD33EASK0WW the control panel has a Push to Start Switch PS3487190 ( two spades) with is located to the far right on the panel. There is a Rotary Switch Part PS11736619 that is located to the far left of the panel. This is the one that has 4 spades. We hope this helps.

My dryer would not start
Step 1. After unplugging the dryer from the wall outlet, Removed 6 screws holding the back cover of the instrument panel.
Step 2. Removed the start switch by gently twisting left and pulling out of the socket.
Step 3. Removed the three wires, one at a time and placed them on the new start switch, then installed the new switch ... Read more in its socket by gently twisting to the right.
(Note: plugged power cord back in and tried the new Start Switch. Still would not start.)
Step 4. Removed the Timer Knob by pulling strait off the shaft, then replaced with the new knob. Pushed the Start button and the Dryer worked. The old knob was obviously stripped so as to slip on the Timer shaft, giving the impression it was moving but it was not.
