This power cord is used for power tools and some of the following tools: electric drills, reciprocating saws, jig saws, biscuit joiners, and routers. The power cord is made for double insulated tools and is a two-wire cord with two prongs, but it does not need a ground wire. If there are cuts in the cord insulation, intermittent power during operation, or damaged and bent prongs, then replacing the power cord will solve the problem. The tools needed for this repair are a Phillips screwdriver, small screwdriver, wire cutters/strippers, crimping tool, and terminal (ring or spade). Repair tip: During installation, remember that new cord wires must go correctly into wire terminals. Also, to avoid pinching when the tool case is put back into place, remember to route cord and wires in the right path.

Carbon brushes are needed to conduct electricity to the armature through the commutator. The brushes are continuously rubbing against the rotating commutator, so will wear down over time, and will need to be replaced. If you are experiencing excessive sparks, this can also be caused by a damaged armature, so it is best to check it at the same time. This part includes two carbon brushes, which need to be replaced at the same time.

This carbon brush lead or also known as a carbon motor brush fits the following tools: angle grinders, nibbler and shears, sander polishers, and jig saws. This includes the brush and a wire lead attached. This is one of the most commonly replaced power tool components because the carbon brushes easily wear off with friction and use. If your brush is worn out it can cause intermittent motor function, reduction in electric braking, and in motor power. If you notice burns and cracks on the wire lead, then it is best to replace this part. Tip: when replacing your carbon brush, make sure to inspect your armature for damage as well, in case there are larger motor problems.

This is a terminal for your power tools. The terminal attaches to the cord of your machine, and then to the electrical connection on the tool. Through this connection, the electricity travels from the wall, through the terminal, and into your machine. The most common reason for needing to replace this part, is if your machine is plugged in but not turning on.

This is a carbon brush, sold individually. It is advisable to replace both carbon brushes at the same time, meaning you will need to order two, even if only one is worn. If the motor of your tool is running less than perfect, it is likely a case of worn brushes that require replacement. When doing this repair, this is an opportune time to also do a quick check of the condition of the armature.
