This is an authentic OEM part that has been sourced directly from Dremel. This carbon brush and spring pair is found on the outside of the motor assembly on your scroll saw. Carbon brushes help power the saw by helping transferring electricity from a stationary part to a rotating part in a motor. Helping drive the motor means these brushes face a lot of friction and heat, therefore they will wear down over time and need to be replaced. Before attempting to replace the carbon brush make sure you have unplugged the scroll saw.

Installation Instructions

Dwayne from Las Vegas, NV
small thin cuts with minimal waste with accuracy
the table is OK and allows for 1/4"x1/4"x1.5" thin cuts for saddles and nuts for acoustics if two adjustable guides are used as a fence, saddles ae 1/8th" x 3/8ths" x 2.5" .. the wooly mammoth is too precious to use a thick blade so the dremel is the best bet and as thin as you can get..

however there is no attachment that comes with that allows me to make these cuts extremely accurate, so I use a 90 degree blade, use TWO of the guides I bought from Fix, then I turn them so each are a straight line, much like a fence on a table saw, WORKS GREAT! adjustable with thumb screws, and I can set whatever depth I need.

this is a no muss no fuss simple solution for the desired outcome.. thin blade means minimal waste and minimal sanding ..

the price of two guides are what $14 or so? they fit nice and beat trying to clamp up some bukly C clamp jobbie with a steel or wood fence..

if I could post up an image or a video I could show how I tackled it, this solution won't pop in most folks head as its very unconventional but once you see it you will think, ah yes this is what those guide rails and 90 degree blades are for... WORKS, if you need a fence, just think perpendicular to the normal blade set up, the 90 degree blades tae care fo the direction..

so if you clamp the scroll saw to a table whatever and face it, the adjustable fence and cuts aren't front to back, they are left to right or side to side.. and they must have made these just for this cuz when you install two of the guides and spin them they almost touch..

I dont think thats accidental or coincidence, if you see the set up its all makes sense, this should be included in dremels instructions but its not, it solves so many problems of making exact straight line cuts that are thin and need to be very accurate..

most use a scroll saw for scroll cuts not straight, but someone thought to put fence rails on each side and then make the guides as an accessory, very clever whoever this was..
