Will the Thermal Relief Valve cause the pump to lock up and stop the engine ? After a few minutes, I release the pressure on the hose then it fires right up and does great for a few minutes then does the same thing again. It seems like the pump is building too much pressure and causing the engine to stop ....

Hi Cecil, thank you for reaching out. Yes, the issue could be with the thermal relief valve, part number FIX9995931. It attaches to the pump and releases the water and high pressure inside the pump if the water temperature exceeds normal operating temperatures. It opens and releases the water and pressure from the pump so it will not be damaged. You may need to replace it to fix the issue. We hope that helps!
