This is a single carbon brush with a spring. Carbon brushes are what supply electricity to the armature. They are known to wear due to constant rubbing against the commutator, so it should not be a concern if they are in need of a replacement. They should be inspected regularly, especially if your power tool is not functioning properly. A worn brush can cause excessive sparks, however a damaged armature can also cause sparks, so you will need to inspect both parts. This is a simple repair that should only take a few minutes. You will need to remove the brush caps, and then align the new carbon brush in the holder with the tabs. You will need a screwdriver to secure the cap.

This manufacturer-approved replacement sprocket is sold individually. Your planer feed rollers are driven by chains and sprockets. The outfeed roller has two sprockets on it, one connects it to the gearbox and the other connects to the infeed roller, the infeed roller also has a single sprocket, four in total on your planer. When the sprocket has worn down the chain will start to skip. If the planer is overloaded often, this might also cause the key on the sprocket to shear. This sprocket has eight teeth, a 5/8 bore with a 3/16 key inside the bore.

This is a circuit breaker, which provides overload protection to your planer motor. It is OEM authorized and sold individually. If the planer is working with a very large piece of lumber and takes too large of a bite, this will put stress on the motor that it may not be able to handle. This is when the circuit breaker is designed to trip, which will turn the power off to the motor, protecting it from expensive damage. With time, the circuit breaker can fail, causing it to prematurely trip or not reset after being tripped. To access this part, start by removing the trim piece around the switch with a screwdriver. Next, remove the switch plate that secures the switch to the planer, and then use your pliers to remove the two wires attached to the old circuit breaker. Then use a wrench to unfasten the nut that secures the circuit breaker to the housing, which will allow you to then remove the circuit breaker.
