Located on the door of front load washing machines, the Door Strike ensures that the door will lock by activating the switch, which in turn allows the appliance to run properly. If your washer door will not open or close, is leaking, or the machine will not start or spin, your door strike may be damaged and should be replaced. Regular wear and tear, or a misaligned door may cause the piece to break. This is an easy repair and requires a Phillips screwdriver. This genuine OEM part is made of white plastic, approximately 2 inches in length, and is held in place by 2 screws on the inside of the door. Simply unscrew and remove the old part, line up the placement of the new part using the notch, and tighten the screws back into place.

This genuine OEM replacement part is also known as a door latch or hook, and it is gray in color and made of plastic. You may need to replace the door striker if your washer will not start, or if the door will not open or close. To complete this repair, you will just need a No. 2 square head screwdriver. Open the washer door and remove the screws holding the old striker in place and attach the new one in its place.
