This part is the center crisper drawer slide rail which helps to support the crisper drawers in your refrigerator. If you have difficulty opening or closing your crispers, the center slide rail may be broken and needs to be replaced. Too much weight on the shelf above or in the crisper drawers may cause the center slide rail to break. Replacing this part is easy and does not require any tools. First remove any items off the crisper shelf along with the crisper drawers, then carefully remove the glass shelf. Once you can access the broken center slide rail, gently pull forward on the crisper shelf frame and pull the rail out. Take your new part and line up the locator tab at the rear of the rail, pull the crisper shelf forward, and drop the new rail into place. You can then replace the glass shelf and the crisper drawers, which should now easily slide in with the new rail installed. This is a genuine OEM part, made of white plastic and approximately 13.5 inches in length.

This rear crisper support mounts on the inside of the refrigerator wall to support the rear crisper cover. It is made of white plastic and is sold as an individual part. The support is secured in place by a locking pin. It usually becomes evident that this part needs to be replaced when the shelf is no longer level or the drawer is not opening and closing as it should. For this repair, you will need to remove all the shelves above the crisper to provide space to complete this easy repair. You will need a small putty knife, short flat blade screwdriver, and a small hammer.

Refrigerator Water Filter

This water filter is found in the rear upper-right corner of the interior of the refrigerator. If your model has a replacement indicator light it will turn red to signal the need for a replacement. If your model does not have an indicator light, the filter cartridge should be replaced every six months or earlier if you notice a decrease in the flow of water from the dispenser. The filter media is carbon black and reduces leads, some pharmaceuticals, and fifty other contaminates. It is 2 inches deep, 6 inches high, 2.25 inches wide and weighs approximately 1 lbs. When it comes time to replace the filter, first discard the old one by turning it to the left to remove. It will release itself when it has been turned far enough. Installation instructions are quick and simple but can vary slightly depending on if it is a bottom-freezer, side-by-side or multi-door bottom-freezer model. Refer to the user instructions for you filter. Do not forget to reset the filter change indicator if applicable. In bottom-freezer and side-by-side models this is done by pressing and holding the RESET WATER FILTER bottom for three seconds. On a multi-door bottom-freezer model, press the button underneath the Confirm Filter Change message while the water is dispensing. On select models this reset is done automatically once a new filter is installed.

This NSF-certified water filter helps to improve the taste, quality, and health of your water by removing a number of contaminants including mercury, lead, and trace pharmaceuticals. The filter should be replaced every six month or after 300 gallons of water have been filtered. If you are unsure if your filter is due for replacement, another indicator is if the water flow from the dispenser has slowed down considerably. Replacing this part is a simple task that does not require any tools or shutting off the water or power supply to your fridge. Once the new filter has been installed, be sure to run at least two gallons of water through before consuming.

This filter has a twist and lock design, making the replacement of this part very simple and tool-free. Please note that the manufacturer has updated this filter, so if this is the first time installing it you may require an adapter, which is sold separately. This is a genuine OEM ice maker assembly for your refrigerator. The ice maker makes eight cubes at a time, by filling the mold with water from the inlet valve, freezing the water until the cubes are formed, and then ejecting them into the storage bucket. This process will repeat until the ice bucket is full. If your device is not making ice cubes, the ice maker assembly may need to be replaced. Please ensure that you disconnect the power and water supply to your fridge before beginning this repair. This kit includes the fill cup, a four-pin wire harness adapter, and tube.

Loosened 2 screws on left side freezer wall. Disconnected wire harness. Took out ice maker. Made sure screws extended far enough out to fit the new ice maker over them. Connected the wire harness. Put ice maker onto the 2 screws. Tightened the screws. Within a few hours we had ice. NOTE: use a mirror or you will fish blindly trying to find and tighten the screws. With the mirror, it was easy. Light switch no longer worked
Turn off and unplug your refrigerator. I used the screwdriver on the left side of the part (where the plug is) and used the putty knife at the same time on the right side to push the spring lock portion of the part in. The part snapped out. I unplugged the left contact from the plug and put it on the new part, then I unplugged the right contact and put it on the new part. I did this so the wires would not go up into the refrigerator and be hard to find. I put the left side of the new part where the plug and contacts are in first then I snapped the right side in place. I plugged the refrigerator back in and it worked perfectly. Just take your time and gently remove and reconnect the new part. The store where I bought my refrigerator wanted $69.95 for a service call plus an hourly charge and part charge. Count on this site for your parts and do it yourself. I ordered the part on Monday, it was delivered on Tuesday around noon and I made the repair that afternoon. Read more...
