Pressure washer starch has pressure runs for a little bit then I'll lose pressure take the nozzle off pull the trigger couple times but the nozzle back on I have pressure

The threads on the Water Inlet are badly stripped halfway through the connection and I cannot get a connector started on it. Must I replace the piston guidance part?
